You choose how your open play program computes ratings, from a closed list of settings. A change applies to the next games: ratings already computed stay as they are.
The Rally Leagues screens are in French for now. Each label is quoted as it reads on screen, with its meaning in English.
- In « Jeu libre » (Open play), under « Programmes » (Programs), click « Cotes » (Ratings).
- In « Règles de cote » (Rating rules), click « Modifier les règles » (Edit the rules).
- Pick each setting, then click « Enregistrer » (Save).
The settings
- « Cote de départ » (Starting rating): the same value for everyone, or the level each player declares (beginner, intermediate, advanced). A player who declares nothing starts from the chosen value.
- « Limite par séance » (Limit per session): how far one session can move a settled rating. A provisional rating is never limited.
- « Marge relevée après une absence » (Wider margin after a break): after 3 or 6 months without playing, the rating adjusts faster on return.
- « Montrer les cotes à tous les joueurs du programme » (Show ratings to every program player): without this box, each player only sees their own.
Good to know
- Every start keeps a wide margin: the first games quickly fix a level declared too high or too low.
- Fixing an old score recomputes ratings with the rules in force when that game was played.
- Ratings never appear on a public page.
- « Copier » (Copy) on a program keeps its rating rules.
