Run a volleyball tournament: registration, brackets and live scores
Indoor, beach or corporate volleyball: captains register their teams online, you approve them, and every pool match is generated in one go. The whole gym follows live standings on the big screen or on their phones.
What a volleyball tournament looks like
- Typical format
- Two or three pools of 4 to 6 teams in the morning across the available courts, cross-pool matches, then semifinals and a final in the afternoon.
- Field size
- 8 to 24 teams, played 4v4 (sand, coed) or 6v6 (indoor), with 8 to 12 rostered players per team to handle rotations.
- Scoring
- Two straight sets to 21 in pool play (points ratio as the tiebreaker), finals best of 3: 25, 25 then 15.

Running a volleyball tournament
How do I handle volleyball team registration?
Open a registration invitation: each captain submits their team and roster without an account. You approve teams and tournament capacity is enforced automatically.
What if there isn’t time for a full round robin?
That’s exactly what the Swiss system is for. You set the number of rounds the day allows, and each round matches teams with comparable results instead of making everyone play everyone. With 16 teams, 4 rounds are enough to produce standings where a full round robin would take 15 — and no team leaves the gym early.
Can we play pool games and then a finals bracket?
Yes. The round robin format ranks every team, then the top teams advance to a knockout finals stage. The number of qualifying teams is configurable.
Who enters scores during matches?
You can, or one scorekeeper per court via the scorekeeper link: they enter scores with no account and no access to organizer settings. Standings update live.
