How to use the help center

Who it’s for

These articles are for you if you run a recreational tournament or league with Rally. Often, you do it as a volunteer.

What you’ll find

Each article covers a single task, with the exact button names. You follow the steps on screen, even on your phone.

Where to start

For a tournament, start by publishing it. For a new league, start by creating your first season.

The flow of a season

The league articles follow your season: registration, schedule, results, standings, playoffs and closing. Each article leads to the next task, all the way to the next season.

League screens in French

The Rally Leagues screens are in French for now. League articles quote each button as it reads on screen, with its meaning in English.

Go further

The blog guides explain organizing choices, like tiebreakers, postponements or the season schedule. The FAQ answers general questions about Rally.

And your teams?

Your teams don’t need an account. They follow the schedule and standings through a link you share however you like.

Tournaments

  1. Publish and embed your tournament

Publish your tournament page in Rally and share it with your teams. Then embed the schedule, the standings or the bracket on your club’s website.

Leagues

  1. Create your first season

The Rally Leagues first-season wizard, step by step: league, season, division, teams, schedule and publishing, all the way to your first game.

  2. Register teams

Add your season’s registration requests in Rally Leagues, accept them, then fill in each team’s roster before the first game of your season.

  3. Set up your surfaces and game nights

Add your club’s surfaces and weekly time slots in Rally Leagues. It’s the step to take before you build your season schedule, once per club.

  4. Build and publish the schedule

Build your season schedule in Rally Leagues, check every game, then publish it in a single step. Your teams see it right away, with no account.

  5. Enter a result

Enter a game result in Rally Leagues from your phone. The division standings update right away, with no math to do on your side, even late at night.

  6. Read the standings and tiebreakers

Understand your division standings in Rally Leagues, and the order of tiebreakers that applies whenever two teams end up tied in the standings.

  7. Start the playoffs

Build the playoff bracket in Rally Leagues from your division standings, then move it forward after each game your teams play, round by round.

  8. Close and reopen a season

Close your season in Rally Leagues to lock in the final standings, or reopen it if a result still needs to change after the last game is played.

  9. Move to the next season

Carry over the divisions and teams that continue into your next season in Rally Leagues, without typing everything again from one season to the next.

  10. Give a volunteer a role

Invite a volunteer to manage a league, a division or a team in your Rally Leagues organization, and give them the role that fits what they do.

  11. Read a player record

See every game a player has played in Rally Leagues, across leagues and tournaments. Then filter by league or by tournament to read what matters.

  12. Connect another app

Give another app access to your Rally Leagues organization with a key, then take that access away whenever you want, without touching anything else.

  13. Run open play

Create an open play program in Rally Leagues: one session a week on your reserved courts. Then cancel, move or copy a session when plans change.

  14. Manage open play sign-ups

Choose when sign-ups for your open play sessions start and the cap of each division. Then follow who signed up and who is waiting for a spot.

  15. Sign up for a session

Sign up for an open play session of your club from your phone. If the session is full, the waitlist will give you the next spot that opens up.

  16. Check in when you arrive

Scan the session code with your phone when you arrive at open play at your club. Your check-in is recorded right away and you join the next round.

  17. Run a session

Hand an open play session to a volunteer without admin rights: they check players in, start the rounds and enter the scores for their own division.

  18. Check in players

Show the session code at the entrance, check in a player without a phone or a walk-in by hand, and record who leaves during your open play session.

  19. Start a round

During open play, Rally builds the next round from the players checked in: new partners and fair rest. Check the round, then start it on the courts.

  20. Adjust a round

Before you start the round Rally proposes, swap two players with a single tap. Rests, level gap and reasons update right away on your phone.

  21. Waive a rule

An adjustment breaks fair rest, mixed sides or a together-or-apart rule? Tick play anyway for this round only, and Rally keeps a record of it.

  22. Keep players together or apart

Tell Rally which players to keep on the same side and which to keep apart, for the whole program. In a mixed program, set each mixed side too.

  23. Take a break

A player sits out one round: they ask for a break on their phone, or the organizer records it. Rally never refuses it and counts it as a rest.

  24. Run a court queue

With a court queue, each court that frees up gets the next game without waiting for the others. Players who have waited the longest always play first.

  25. Run a balanced mixer

Balanced mixer builds each round of open play from everyone’s rating: both sides of every game have a close level, without repeating partners.

  26. Run King of the Court

In King of the Court, winners move up one court toward the king’s court and losers move down. Winning partners split up or stay together as they climb.

  27. Run an Americano

In Americano, you change partners every round of the session, and tonight’s standings add up the points each player scores, game after game, all evening.

  28. Run a Mexicano

In Mexicano, the first round follows ratings or chance. Then tonight’s standings pit the 1st and 3rd against the 2nd and 4th of each group of four.

  29. Set the round timer

Set a time limit per round: the timer shows it on the court screen. When time is up, players enter the score as it stands, without finishing the game.

  30. Show the court screen

Open your session’s court screen on a TV or a tablet: who plays on which court, what comes next and the round timer, showing first name and initial only.

  31. Enter your open play score

When your open play game ends, enter the score from your phone. One player is enough for both sides, with no need to wait for the other side to confirm.

  32. Read your open play rating

Your open play rating goes from 1.0 to 10.0 and follows your finished games. See why it moved, game by game, and when it is still provisional.

  33. Declare your open play level

When your program starts from the declared level, state your level before you play. Your rating starts there, with a wide margin, then games correct it.

  34. Follow your program ratings

Read the rating, state and attendance of each player in your open play program. Fix a wrong score and Rally recomputes every rating it touches.

  35. Set your program rating rules

Pick the starting rating, the limit per session, the margin after a break and who sees ratings. A change applies to the next games, never the past.

  36. Read your program standings

Your open play standings rank every player over the whole period. Read your rank and your win rate, and learn why a player may still be unranked.

  37. Set your program standings rules

Choose the order of the ranking criteria of your open play program, then the share of sessions or the number of games a player needs to be ranked.

  38. Publish your program standings

Publish your open play program standings on a public page, with first name and initial only. Take the page down at any time and keep its address.

  39. Close your program

Close your open play program once the period is over: its standings become the final standings and stop moving, even if a score changes later.
