Keep players together or apart

A couple wants to play together, or a coach does not want to partner their student? Tell Rally once for the whole program.

The Rally Leagues screens are in French for now. Each label is quoted as it reads on screen, with its meaning in English.

  1. In « Rondes » (Rounds), find the « Ensemble ou séparés » (Together or apart) card.
  2. Pick the rule: « Garder ensemble » (Keep together) or « Séparer » (Keep apart).
  3. Pick the first player, then the second, among the players checked in.
  4. Click « Ajouter la règle » (Add the rule).

Rally then builds each round while keeping it.

What each rule means

  • Keep together: when both play, they are on the same side.
  • Keep apart: they are never on the same side. They may play against each other.
  • If one rests, the other plays as usual.

A pair has one rule at a time. To change it, click « Retirer » (Remove), then add the new one.

When a rule blocks

If no round keeps every rule, Rally does not waive one on its own. It gives you its best round, to adjust. Read Waive a rule.

Mixed sides

In a mixed program only, the list of players asks each one’s « Côté mixte » (Mixed side). « Non précisé » (Not specified) fits either side. Elsewhere, Rally never asks.

To check players in, read Check in players.
