Waive a rule

Rally never waives a rule on its own. You can, for one round, by saying so.

The Rally Leagues screens are in French for now. Each label is quoted as it reads on screen, with its meaning in English.

  1. Adjust the proposed round: a red alert names the broken rule.
  2. Read the rule, with the names of the players involved.
  3. Tick « Jouer quand même » (Play anyway). The alert names the rule you waive.
  4. Click « Lancer la ronde » (Start the round).

The start keeps a record: who did it, for which round, which rule and which players.

Rules you can waive

  • Fair rest: nobody rests twice before everyone else.
  • Mixed sides: in a mixed program, one woman and one man per side.
  • Players to keep together or apart. Read Keep players together or apart.

What can never be waived

The alert then has no box and no button, and « Lancer la ronde » stays greyed out:

  • a side without the right number of players;
  • a player twice in the round, or who is no longer there;
  • a player who asked for a break.

When Rally finds no round

If no round keeps every rule, Rally says so and gives you its best one, to adjust. Swap players, or play anyway.

Good to know

A new swap unticks the box: you only waive what you just read. To swap players, read Adjust a round.
