Round robin tournament length
In a round robin, every team plays every other team. The match count climbs fast: 8 teams play 28 matches, 12 teams play 66. More courts make each round shorter.
Elimination bracket duration
Single elimination has one match fewer than teams. The bracket still waits for its winners: past a certain number of courts, the time stops dropping.
Double elimination
Double elimination plays about twice as many matches. The final may need a rematch, so keep one extra slot in reserve.

How does the calculator estimate the duration?
It plays the tournament ahead of time, slot by slot, on your courts. A match only starts once both of its teams are known.
How long does an 8-team tournament take?
On 2 courts, with 20-minute matches and a 5-minute break, plan 1 h 35 for single elimination. A round robin takes 5 h 45.
Why don’t more courts always make the tournament shorter?
Because a bracket waits for its winners. Semifinals wait for the quarterfinals, however many courts are free.
Are breaks included?
The break between two matches is, except after the last one. Check-in, lunch and the awards are not: add them yourself.
How many matches are in a round robin?
Every team plays every other team once. With 8 teams, that is 28 matches over 7 rounds.
What about each match’s time?
